Homeowners post projects with a trade category, location, and optional budget ceiling. Every matching team can see the project and submit a bid — but bidding is sealed. You submit your price without seeing what anyone else has bid, and no other team can see yours either.
The poster is the only one who sees every bid that comes in, and they can award the project to whichever one they want — it doesn't have to be the lowest. Fit, timeline, and your profile matter just as much as price. Once they award it, the winning team's contact info gets shared so the actual work can start.
That means a strong profile and a fair, well-considered bid both carry real weight — you're not just racing to undercut the next guy by a dollar.
A directory listing only works if it gives a homeowner enough confidence to click "Contact." The profiles that get picked tend to share a few things in common. First, they fill in every field, not just the required ones — a filled-in year established, license number, and specialties line reads as a real operation, not a placeholder. Second, they keep availability current. A team marked "Available now" that actually is gets more first contact than one that's been sitting on "Booking 1-2 months out" for half a year.
Your team dashboard lets you upload a logo and project photos any time — do this before you start bidding seriously. A profile with real photos of finished work reads completely differently from a bare listing, and it's the first thing a poster checks before awarding a bid, right alongside price.
Finally, be deliberate about your bids. Since posters see your price alongside your profile — not just a number on a public leaderboard — a thoughtful, realistic bid backed by a strong profile carries more weight than trying to guess your way to the lowest number.
